Plans are underway for the July 9th 2009 USS Holland AS-32 6th Reunion to be held at Concord, CA. just 15 minutes away from where the Holland is Berthed at Suisun Bay Fleet Reserve. The Airport to fly into is San Francisco, CA. We will be working on a Reunion Package that will include a tour boat to the USS Holland itself, and might be possible for the Last Time before she gets scraped. The Hotel; is The Concord Hilton. A Holy Loch Related Reunion includes, All Sub Tenders, Dry Dock, Squadron 14, NavActsUK Holy Loch, Assigned Submarines, SupShips Charleston, Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard etc.

***This tour would be available on Wednesday (6-25) going to Williamsburg and the Merchants Square provided we have a minimum of 35 people wishing to go on the tour. The cost of this tour will be $40.00per person and should be added on to the above amount for anyone wishing to participate.
The reservations for the Hotel Radisson will be the responsibility of the persons attending. Please call 1-757-627-555 to make your reservations under the Group Plan for the Hunley 2008 Reunion. The cost of the rooms will be $95.00 plus tax.
These same room rates will be available to those attending the reunion three days prior and three days following the close of the reunion.
There will be no additional cost for parking at the Hotel. If you desire to have the Radisson provide transportation from the Norfolk Airport to the Radisson and again back to the Norfolk Airport from the Radisson this is a free shuttle service provided you make prior arrangements with the Hotel for this service twenty-four (24) hours ahead of your pickup or departure time. They request you give your name, flight number and time of arrival and departure for this service.

The USS Holland AS-32 Association would like to invite you to their 4th reunion in the beautiful city of San Antonio, TX on September 13-16, 2007. The hotel chosen for this event is the Radisson Hotel Market Square. The Radisson is located at 502 W. Durango just walking distance from historic Mexican Market Square and the downtown area and the famous Alamo and the San Antonio River Walk.

You can reserve your room by calling 210-224-7155 and be sure that you mention the USS Holland Reunion on those dates so you can get the group’s special rate of $89.00 per night. Each guest room features voicemail, data ports, hairdryer, full size ironing board and iron, in-room Nintendo, remote control television, HBO and pay movie services. Complimentary High-Speed Internet Access in all guest rooms. Some rooms have a refrigerator and microwave at no charge upon request. When you're not out discovering the richness and romance of San Antonio, or immersed in meetings and conferences, you can take a much-deserved break in the hotel's tropical courtyard. They have created it for total relaxation. At the pool you can swim laps or catch the sun. There's a Jacuzzi nestled among the palms. There is also an outdoor bar near the fountain. And a patio-style cafe for dining.
On arriving at the airport here is some information on the shuttle service .The airport offers SA Trans Shuttle Service to all Downtown Hotels at a current rate of $14.00 for a one way trip and $24.00 for a two way trip (under the age of six is complimentary). You can locate this service in the baggage claim. For more information call SA Trans at (210) 281-9900. We trying to work out a package deal with SA Trans for this reunion, so we'll keep you posted. The Radisson Hotel offers a complimentary downtown van shuttle service for all guest upon request 7:00 am through 10:30pm for a three mile radius of the hotel, including all downtown attractions, businesses and restaurants.
If you need to get around downtown, the VIA historic streetcars are the way to go. Four different streetcar routes travel throughout downtown carrying visitors, shoppers, sightseers, and downtown residents. Streetcars come by each stop about every 10 minutes so there’s never a long wait. A One Day Pass costs $3.75 and is good for unlimited rides on all regular bus and streetcar service for the one day indicated on the pass. The Day Pass will be activated the first time boarding the bus or streetcar. Passes can be purchase in the Downtown Via Information Center.
Of course, downtown San Antonio means more than the Alamo and the Riverwalk. If you have a worldwide taste for food, you're going to find so many diverse restaurants you'll wonder if you're really in Texas. And at the first setting of the sun, the music and nightlife start and never seem to stop. Above all, if you were meant to shop, San Antonio will seem like paradise. There are dozens of riverside and street-level shops and boutiques. None, however, as unique as Market Square/EI Mercado. You can shop all day in a Mexican market filled with unique and authentic fashions, gifts, souvenirs, vendors, music and fine restaurants.

The reunion was held at The Shades of Green Resort (near Disney World).

The Reunion was for all personnel (1943-1992), that served aboard the USS Proteus(AS-19); ex-crew members, relief crews, and families. The Reunion, went very well; 124 were present. The Shades of Green personnel could not have been more helpful; a good time was had by all.
The next Reunion will be in San Diego, CA in 2006; LT Paul Castle, USN(Ret), will be the host(paul1@ix.netcom.com).

The Marine Detachment of the USS Proteus sponsors the Leatherneck Clan Tent. We fly both the Leatherneck tartan and the Proteus Tartans and have on display some memorabelia from our tour of duty on the USS Proteus, 1960 to 1963.

A number of detachment Marines married Scottish lassies and they will be in attendance for the Games.
ALL PROTEUS SITE 1 PERSONNEL are invited to join us and stop by our Clan Tent and socialize and have a "wee dram"!
We are still trying to locate some of the original members of the Marine Detachment. If anyone knows any marines who were on the Proteus from 60 to 63, please get in touch.

The First USS hunley reunion was held in Muskegon, Michigan on August 2 & 3,2002. Though it was a small group consisting of 30 former crewmen and their wives a great time was enjoyed by all. We had a great reception on Friday night. Saturday was a tour of the LST393 and the Submarine Silversides (ssn 236). Saturday evening was a wonderful but brief memorial to our departed comrades and an evening of dining, music ,and dancing.
Our next reunion is to be held in New London, Connecticut. We will continue to search for and update our data base with the address of other crew members.

A get to know each other will be 27 May at Heart Break Cafe from 7pm-2am with snacks provided. A cookout gathering will be 28 May from noon to sunset at Little Creek Amphib. Base. cost is $10.00 per person adult age which includes beer, wine, piper, soda and food. Tee shirts are being made with reunion slogan for $10.00 each and need size if you want one in advance.
